How I make my Fried Chicken Sandwiches

There is nothing like making your own fried chicken sandwich at home. I know there are tons of chicken sandwich recipes out there. But of course I think mine is the best ☺

My fried chicken sandwich uses boneless and skinless chicken thigh filets. I use this part of the chicken because it’s the juicest when fried. If you are looking for fried chicken recipes that do not call for buttermilk, this is it!  Let’s get into this easy recipe.

Fried Chicken Sandwich with Steak Fries

What you will need

  • 1 pack of boneless and skinless chicken thigh filets. I usually find this chicken at Walmart. ( packs come 6-8 a pack, perfect for a family)
  • 1 pack of brioche buns ( optional, but recommended)
  • At least a 1/2 cup of yellow mustard
  • Flour ( enough to flour the filets)
  • Vegetable oil (48 FL oz)
  • Seasonings used: dash chicken seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, 1 packet of  sazon, paprika, goya all-purpose seasoning

How to make the Fried Chicken Sandwich

Fried Chicken Thighs
  1. Clean, rinse, and pat dry chicken with a paper towel. Use cool water to rinse the chicken, and cut off any fat white parts you see.
  2. Take your chicken filets and spread flat before seasoning. Season chicken with my seasonings I listed or your choice. Add yellow mustard to the chicken, massage in on both sides.
  3. Pour vegetable oil into your frying pan or pot. I use a deep frying pot, so you may use less or more oil. Turn the heat on medium high. Give the oil 7-10 minutes to get hot.
  4. In a separate bowl, or where you are comfortable adding flour to the chicken. Flour the chicken on both sides. Shake any extra flour off before next step.
  5. Add the chicken to hot oil, at least 2-3 pieces at a time. Let fry for about 7 minutes, then give the chicken thighs a flip and let fry for 10-15 more minutes or until crispy. You will know your chicken is done when it starts to float and becomes crispy + golden brown!
  6. While the chicken is frying, you can toast your buns in a pan. Spread soft butter on the top and bottom bun. Let toast in the pan for 5-6 minutes on medium heat. Add your favorite toppings to your chicken sandwich.

Toppings Ideas: lettuce, onion, tomatoes, pickles, your favorite cheese! Ranch, Mayo, and your favorite sauces can be tossed on your chicken .
