The famous question! How do you make a Meatloaf stick together?

Meatloaf before placed in oven

The ingredients that make a Meatloaf stick together are eggs and breadcrumbs. The main reason the Meatloaf can fall apart is when these two ingredients are either missing, or there isn’t enough added. Also, the way you bake your loaf matters. The best way to bake a Meatloaf is covered majority of baking. Then uncover for the last 15-20 minutes. This will keep the Meatloaf moist and give it time to cook inside. Let’s jump into this easy recipe!

  • 2 lbs ground beef

  • 1 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 2 tbsp of worcestershire

  • 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
  • Next, if you will be adding onions and bell peppers, get those chopped and diced.
  • In a mixing bowl, add ground beef and seasonings and worcestershire sauce. Mix together. (If your prefer to use gloves this will be the time to grab them). You want to make sure you are working in all ingredients.
  • Then add diced onions and bell peppers, cheddar cheese, work in real good.
  • Now add eggs, milk ( suggest beating egg in a bowl then adding in) and breadcrumbs. Make sure everything is mixed into meat.
  • Now it’s time to form the loaf. If you are making this without a loaf pan. Take a oven safe pan, spray bottom with cooking oil (can also place aluminum foil at bottom. Place the mixed meat on pan and start molding the meat until a round but rectangle shape. Place Meatloaf in oven, let bake covered for at least 40 minutes.
  • Then uncover and add sauce on top. For the last 15-20 minutes let bake uncovered. This will let the outside brown.
  • Let cool for about 5-7 minutes, then slice. Enjoy!
