Tender Oven Baked BBQ Ribs

I have been craving baby back ribs for a while now. So I decided to make them right at home. No, I’m not using a grill or a smoker, I’m using my oven! The ribs came out so tender and juicy. These easy steps will show you exactly how to make the perfect ribs “oven style”. Let’s jump right into this recipe!

What you will need

  • 1 slab of pork baby back ribs ( I used Smithfield extra meaty)
  • Long baking sheet
  • Aluminum foil
  • At least 2 bottles of your favorite BBQ Sauce
  • At least 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • About 1/2 cup of yellow mustard
  • 1/2 of worcestershire sauce
  • Seasonings used: garlic powder, onion powder, all purpose meat seasoning, cumin, paprika, black pepper (at least 1tbsp of each), a few tsps of red chili flakes.

How to make Baked Ribs

  1. Remove the membrane(skin) from back of ribs (optional). You can start removal with a knife and remove the rest with your fingers. After the membrane is removed, rinse the ribs with cold water. Pat the ribs dry with a paper towel. I cut my ribs in half right down the middle, this is of course is optional.
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  3. Season ribs on both sides with your choice of seasonings or the ones I mentioned above. Mix together, yellow mustard, worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture on both sides of the ribs. This is the easy rub that I use on my ribs. You can use your choice of rub or a pre-made one.
  4. Wrap the seasoned ribs with aluminum foil facing meat side up. Place ribs on baking sheet. Place in oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Then, take out ribs and dump any extra juice if you want. Brush BBQ sauce all over the ribs front and back.
  5. Place ribs back in oven, open up foil, bake for 35-40 more minutes. When done, the ribs should be tender enough to cut the slices of ribs. Falling off the bone is what we want!
