And, of course, make some of the best side dishes like: mashed potatoes,  scalloped potatoes, fried potatoes, and baked.

How to make Hasselback Potatoes

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Rinse potatoes with cool water and place in a bowl of cool water until you are ready for the next step. (You can peel the potatoes, this is optional)
  3. Pat dry potatoes with a paper towel. Take a knife and slice the top of the potatoes thin, at least 3/4 way down. You want the potato to still be intact. (if you have wooden cooking sticks available,  use those to help keep the potato steady while slicing)
  4. Combine melted butter, fresh garlic, and seasonings together. Brush this mixture all over the potatoes. Then, place the potatoes on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper( give each potato space to cook).
  5. Place in oven uncovered for about 50 minutes. After 50 minutes, check potatoes to see if they are crispy. Add 10 more minutes of baking time if needed.
