Ingredients

  • 1 pack of beef stew meat ( great choice because it comes already from chopped in nice size pieces ) your choice of lean beef will work.

  • 1 yellow onion chopped

  • At least 1 tbsp of Fresh chopped garlic or minced garlic

  • At least 1/2 of 32oz Beef broth ( use remaining to add extra broth or thicken up broth)

  • At least 2-3 tbsp of all purpose flour

  • 1/2 bag of Wide Egg Noodles (most likely available in a 1 lb bag)

Spoonful of beef and noodles

Directions

  • Season Beef with seasonings mentioned in details or your own blend. Then add 1 tbsp of flour to beef, Rub the flour all over the meat.
Take out a frying pan, add a few tbsps of cooking oil; olive oil works great! When oil is heated add beef, let sear all around for about 3-4 minutes on medium high heat.
  • Let the oil drip off beef then add to crockpot. Turn crockpot on high heat. Add onions and garlic. Then add the beef broth; add enough broth to just cover the meat. Let slow cook for at least 3 hours. Give the beef a stir at about 1 hour.
  • Check beef after 3 hours of cooking to see if the beef is done. Beef should fall apart when you check with a fork. This is how you will know the meat is done, reduce heat on crockpot to low.
  • To thicken up the beef and broth, add to a cup or mixing bowl about 1- 1/2 tbsp of flour and at least 1/2 cup of Beef Broth(add more as needed), mix the flour and broth together well until the flour is dissolved. Now add to the crockpot, stir beef and let it continue to cook on low until you are ready for the noodles.
  • Start boiling your egg noodles, when water comes to a boil add the noodles and let cook for about 4 minutes( cook for 7-8 minutes if you are keep noodles on the side). Drain then add noodles to the crockpot. Mix the noodles in with the beef. Let cook on low for 15 minutes.
Turn crockpot on low heat or completely off.
  • If you desire, drain the egg noodles and set to the side. If you don’t want to mix it in and want the beef added on top.
