3 Bean Turkey Chili

Fall season is going by so fast and soon we will be approaching winter. It’s time to get those pots and crock pots out for a comforting bowl of chili! This bomb recipe for chili will have you and your family coming back to the pot for more. For this recipe I used my crockpot. Just something about a slow cooked chili after a long day. This chili has 3 types of beans in it; kidney , black, and pinto beans. So hearty and fulfilling with each bite! Also, I used ground turkey. If you’re not a fan of ground turkey, ground beef is awesome with this recipe as well. The steps below are idea for crockpot, but can be used for a classic pot with a few changes to the steps➡️Make sure to cook your vegetables first on medium with olive oil, then add tomato paste if you want a thicker chili. Next, add your broth, meat, beans and other ingredients (cook time about 1-2 hours).

How to make a Easy Crockpot Chili

  1. First, start preparing your ground turkey. Add some olive oil to pan, season your turkey, cook until brown/done. Turn off and set to the side.
  2. While your meat is cooking get your vegetables chopped:onion, bell peppers and jalapeno. I suggest you gut the seeds out of the jalapeno for a mild taste.
  3. Next, open and pour your beans into a strainer. Drain and rinse your beans with cold water.
  4. Now you will be adding all of your ingredients into your crockpot. Adding your meat, fire roasted tomatoes, and tomato sauce first. Then, add the vegetables and beans. Stir everything together.
  5. Last, add your chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, garlic and herb. Mix everything again and slow cook on medium high for about 4 hours.

Serve with warm cornbread, rice, or some crackers. Top with cheese, green onion and Sour cream if you desire.
