Cabbage Roll Soup

What you will need

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1lb of ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp of chopped fresh garlic
  • 1 can of tomato sauce -15oz
  • 1 can diced tomato -14oz
  • 1tbsp of brown sugar ( add to taste)
  • 1-2 cups of white or parboil rice
  • 1 chopped or shredded carrot ( hand full or less)
  • beef broth 48oz

How to make Cabbage Roll Soup

  1. First, cook your ground beef. When your ground beef starts to brown start adding chopped onion, bell pepper. Drain beef if needed and set to the side.
  2. Start chopping up your cabbage and rinse.( you can chop or shred your cabbage anyway you want)
  3. Next, in a pot add your ground beef, garlic,cabbage, tomatoes (sauce and diced), carrots, brown sugar, rice.
  4. Turn stove on about medium high and add your beef broth. Bring to boil then turn on medium low for about 30 minutes or until rice and cabbage is tender. Then serve. *Suggest turning off when rice and cabbage appear done or real low to keep a soup texture*

Serve your soup with a side garlic bread, cornbread, or a chopped salad.
