Salmon Patties

I want to share with you all my salmon cakes recipe, better known as Salmon Patties. These delicious patties can be made for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Don’t you just love versatile meals! This recipe is very easy and made right from the can. Salmon cakes from the can is actually my favorite way to make them. You can most definitely achieve these cakes by making it from cooking your own salmon. But that’s for another day lol. These juicy patties include fresh yellow onion, seasonings with flavor in every bite. Mmmmmm Let’s jump into this recipe.

garlic powder, chicken flavor (prefer goya chicken season), black pepper, old bay, oregano

Salmon Patty

Ingredients

  • 1 or 2 cans of Pink Salmon (1 can makes about 4 patties)

  • 1 yellow onion

  • Flour ( using at least 2 tablespoons)

  • 1 egg ( add a egg for each can)

  • Vegetable oil or your choice of cooking oil

Directions

  • First, open your can of salmon and drain juice , then dump into a mixing bowl.
  • Remove bones ( you dont want to taste little bones in your patty)*Always wash your hands after touching salmon*
  • Get your pan ready, turn stove on medium high, oil should be covering pan but you are not deep frying your patties.
  • Dice your onion and add it to your salmon, also add seasonings. Mix together.
  • Then add your egg, mix again
  • Sprinkle flour lightly to cover top of mix, stirr in with spoon or hand, not too much flour but enough to stick.
  • Now form your patties, by rolling in a ball then patting out into a nice round patty.
  • When your grease is hot, put patties one by one in the grease, frying on both side for about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
